A DXpedition or a great contest location was once not that far from home!
Sadly WP2Z, Christiansted, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, no longer operates from Windwood. The property was sold and the station taken down. It will long be remembered by the contesters that had an opportunity to go there.

N4ES and N4ESS traveled to WP2Z on 5/26 - 6/02, 2004 for a well earned vacation and a chance to try our hand at contesting. Well, not just contesting. You know, CONTESTING !!! The kind you dreamed about when you were a novice. A pair of 920s, a great mountain top location, lots of antennas, and a view that won't quit. Sound too good to be true? Well it's not. WP2Z is located in just such a location with exactly that kind of rig and antenna compliment. Note: In the lower picture my finger is pointing to the hilltop that WP2Z is located on. It is the highest residence.

ARRL International DX Contest (CW) was the third full weekend in February, (February 19-20, 2005). N4ES, Bill Coleman, and N4ESS, Rich Kennedy, were operating from WP2Z, IOTA NA-106.

The results are in and I have listed only the category that Bill, N4ES, and myself, Rich, N4ESS operated in at WP2Z. There are a number of great contest operators that we have listened to and studied their operating style. We took some of what we have learned from them and incorporated it into our own cw style and ended up with a great score. A BIG congratulations to the guys at V31TP with operators: V31TP/WC0W, V31EV/NS0B, V31BC/NU0Q. Great job guys!
